Design Inspiration: Stairwell Storage
Found these photos today on the Poppytalk blog. The photos are from the Come Up to My Room 2009 exhibition. The Courtyard House as it is called was created by Peter Tan and Christine Ho Ping Kong of Studio Junction, Toronto.

Very nice! Of course it does preclude a runner on the stairs. A reasonable sacrifice, I would say.
Those are fantastic! You could just carpet the stairs with low pile instead of a runner.
Michael: So worth it--who needs a runner when the wood is that good? Ahhhh...lovely.
Maureen: I would leave 'em bare and beautiful just as they are--the less vaccuming the better for my preference. ;-)
